You may want a green lawn to show you care about your property. With a well manicured green lawn, it says to the passerby, this is where I live with my family in our home sweet home.
If the grass is long, full of weeds and junk everywhere, then the house is probably a mess too and may be about to collapse due to lack of maintenance. Maintain your lawn and home and your property will maintain, may even increase in value over a period of time.
If you see bare brown patches on your lawn and weeds growing where there should be lots of grass, you can remove the weeds and take measures to stop weeds without using chemicals. For example, you can add mulch to prevent the weeds rising to the surface.
