Purchasing Camping Tents
The lowly tent was the mainstay shelter for nomads. They appeared quickly and vanished just as quickly, until buildings of sturdier materials, such as stone or wood began to force the tents into near extinction. But once these newer buildings started becoming much grandeur and on a larger scale, for some strange reason the tent started gaining in popularity again.
You, along with many others may feel that the best use of a tent is for camping. However, it is pretty amazing that tents are so versatile that they can be used for any number of things or events. You have probably seen them used at fairs or golf tournaments, as well as for outdoor wedding receptions and all the way to the Worlds Fair.
It appears that most people think the best use of a tent is for camping. But what makes one better than another, and what should you look for when buying one? Naturally, when you are looking at tents, size is important.
How many people will one sleep comfortably? A good rule of thumb is to get a tent suitable for two more people than will actually be occupying the shelter. When considering the height, you will want to make sure that you can stand up straight, unless of course you enjoy walking around bent over or slouching.
Check for durability, inspect the seams for reinforcement and look for a little extra storage with pockets or hangers. It is also an excellent idea to practice setting your tent up at home first.
