Keeping Pests Away From Your Water Gardens
Water and a garden always look enchanting in a backyard landscape. This is why water gardens are popular with many people these days.
Once you decide you want a water garden in your front or backyard, you need to look at ways at protecting your fish in the fish pond in your garden, from neighbourhood pests and predators like birds, cats, raccoons and rabbits.
One option is to have a deep pond, as birds and many pests do not like to dive deep to get their food. Another option is pouring fish safe dye into your pond, making it difficult for pests to distinguish the fish in the murky waters in your pond.
A third option to consider, is a motion detector attached to a sprinkler system, where the sprinkler comes on when the pests try to approach the water in your water garden.
These are some of the more humane options you can use to keep neighbourhood pests away from your water garden.
